Middlefield Medical Office Building (MOB)

This MOB is a new two-story, 24,000 square foot facility designed to provide patients with urgent care and family medical services, specimen laboratory, diagnostic imaging (X-Ray and mammography), a pharmacy and financial services all under one roof.   

Leveraging lessons learned from previous pharmacy projects, Pivot worked closely with the client’s facilities and fleet capital program team and pharmacists. The team opted to add extra closed storage around each workstation, as well as larger worksurfaces for a more functional work environment.  This provided more storage for additional supplies as well as better workflow between pharmacists to expedite filled prescriptions.  Additionally, Pivot provided guidance to the architect to create a new standard to add more workspaces for nurses and staff in work areas.   

Pivot also worked with the architect and client to create a custom, built-in look for registration and nurse stations, and chose to incorporate the MillerKnoll Commend product line to achieve this look. The space also features MillerKnoll Action Office workstations, as well as Carolina Rule of 3 chairs in all waiting rooms. The pharmacy incorporates Herman Miller Mora, a wall and floor mounted casework.  Mora includes an integral Corian backsplash and laser-edge banding to support infection prevention programs.
