Gender Affirming Care Clinic

This Bay Area space provides services to transgender and gender diverse children, youth, and adults. The client had a detailed vision of the space, and our design team worked closely with them to achieve the desired look.  The goal was to create multiple spaces within an open floorplan utilizing Loftwall’s modern room divider screen system to create two separate seating areas in the waiting room.  Mixed materials, such as Blue Dot’s Turn tables in solid Acacia wood and Encore’s Hoom and Hado Lounge chairs complement the space in gender affirming colors.  The space includes library, featuring Muuto’s Stacked storage system in a deep blue and nude oak to provide a calm and inviting space that pulls clients in for respite.   

The clinic’s design incorporates playful themes like beach, forest, and desert, with non-porous fabrics that meet hygiene standards for a clinical space. The entry area is open and collaborative, with multiple settings for different conversations and two workstations for intake, creating a casual yet healthcare-oriented atmosphere. This vibrant and supportive environment aims to be a safe space for youth struggling at home or school, providing a sense of community and belonging.
