Design Center Now Open in Los Angeles
Our grand opening celebration hosted members of the community, design partners, clients and our brand partners for an evening of cocktails, light bites and a brief presentation on the space.
The Pivot Los Angeles Design Center (LADC) has opened our newest design center in Los Angeles, kicking off with a grand opening celebration on September 28, 2023. The design center will support Pivot’s commitment to serving the community and engaging in the growth of the LA Arts District.
Housed in a historic, 11,200 square foot brick building constructed in 1923, the repurposed space is conceptualized around the original use of supplying goods for the Los Angeles economy and railroad industry of the 20’s and 30’s. The building features beautiful original exposed brick and several original door frames with abundant natural light and trussed ceilings, as well as a future outdoor space.
“We see our use of this space as an homage to the history of the building: a catalyst for defining what work has become with a focus on community, identity and local partnerships. We have expressed this story through color, texture and materiality,” said Edward Woodill, Creative Director.
Leveraging both the science and the art of design, the office has an emphasis on activities and settings to support distributed work, collaboration and wellness and is designed to host events for both the architecture community and Pivot employees.
Pivot managed the tenant improvement of the interior of the building prior to the design center opening, coordinating all interior finishes and furnishings. The team worked with Hughes Marino to secure the building, Parco Studio for architecture and GCX for construction. Interior construction of new walls was self-performed by the firm’s Construction Solutions division leveraging prefabricated construction systems. The design center also features pieces from local art galleries and plans to nurture ongoing community partnership with breweries, distilleries, artists and caterers as part of the collaborative nature of the space.
The address of the new design center is 2116 Sacramento Street, Los Angeles CA 90021. For tours or more information, please reach out to Yudi Silvas at ysilvas@pivotinteriors.com or click the button below.
